Seven H.L. Bourgeois seniors announced their collegiate athletic intentions at a signing ceremony last week.

Track and field athletes Caleb Williams and Brianne Bergeron are heading for LSU – Williams on scholarship, and Bergeron will walk on – and Chelsea Steele is attending Southeastern Louisiana.

Football players Sean Harvey, Grant Thibodeaux and Kent Boudreaux are going to Millsaps College in Summit, Miss. Running back Jereme Lagarde is attending Fullerton College, a community college in California.

Williams won his second consecutive 400-meter state championship May 9. He is ranked ninth in the country in the 400-meter and seventh in the 200-meter dashes.

Steele holds the school record in the javelin and placed third at this year’s state meet at 124 feet, 6 inches. She plans on majoring in nursing.

Bergeron holds the school pole vault record at 11 feet, 6 inches. She intends to study biological sciences. Lagarde leaves Bourgeois as the school’s all-time leading rusher with 3,366 yards.

Harvey, Thibodeaux and Boudreaux all plan to study sports medicine.
