Nicholls landed nine athletes on the All-Southland Conference squads with junior punter Patrick Dolan and senior fullback Marlin Meeks garnering first team honors, the league office announced last Tuesday.

Dolan finished his junior season ranked No. 5 nationally in punting with an average of 42.73 yards/punt, while Meeks led all fullbacks in the conference with 675 yards rushing on 123 carries and three touchdowns.

This is Dolan’s second All-SLC first team bid, while Meeks closed out his final season by rushing for over 100 yards in three of his final four games.

Notching second team honors were senior offensive lineman Aric Flowers, senior defensive back Jordan Nevels, and senior wide receiver Antonio Robinson. Flowers started every game for the Colonels this season, while Nevels finished with 43 total tackles that included 3.5 for a loss, six pass breakups, three forced fumbles and an interception.

Robinson was the Colonels’ leading wide receiver with 490 yards on 27 receptions and four touchdowns, and also had 159 yards rushing and two scores. Robinson also received return specialist honorable mention recognition.

Honorable mentions for Nicholls included redshirt freshman Laquintin Caston, senior defensive end Zac Reddix and senior linebacker Yashua Willis.
