Houma man leads police on chase

The Central Lafourche Lady Trojans did not waste time in jumping ahead of the E.D. White Lady Cardinals at the Lady Trojans Soccer Tournament in Mathews, this weekend.
The Lady Trojans used first half goals by Lindsay Babin and Gwen Ledet to take a 2-0 lead into halftime, and added a second-half goal to win 3-0.
Babin added her second goal of the game in the second half, giving Central Lafourche the 3-0 advantage.
Both teams were missing players in the first half due to ACT testing.
It was the Lady Trojans’ second win of the tournament—they previously defeated South Terrebonne 2-1, but loss to former district rival Hahnville, 1-0 on Friday night.
Throughout the first half, the Lady Trojans controlled possession on their half of the field, but as halftime approached, E.D. White had opportunities to get on the board. On two separate occasions, the Lady Cardinals put crosses in front of the goalmouth, but both times failed to have a runner to finish off the pass.
Once the second half got underway, it did not take long for the Lady Trojans to continue to control the match. Just three minutes into the second half, Babin ran onto a pass and dribbled past a defender to place a shot past the Lady Cardinals’ goalkeeper and in the back of the net for a 3-0 lead in the 33rd minute.
Two minutes later, Babin took another shot that threatened, this one from outside the penalty box, but the E.D. White goalie made the save.
The Lady Trojans threatened a couple more times, but pushed their shots either just wide or over the crossbar.
