J. Ray McDermott Inc. recently refurbished the football-filming tower at John L. Guidry Stadium on Nicholls State University’s campus.

McDermott originally donated the tower to the university 18 years ago. Company officials were on hand for last week’s unveiling.

“It now looks as good as it did the day McDermott donated it 18 years ago, and the fresh paint job really compliments the rest of the improvements at Manning Field,” said Nicholls State Vice President of Institutional Advancement David Boudreaux.

Nicholls State Athletic Director Rob Bernardi echoed Boudreaux’s gratefulness.

“While being an international company, McDermott is still dedicated to community support at the local level,” Bernardi said. “We are honored by our association.”

Steve Becnel, general manager of McDermott’s Morgan City facility, credited International Paint Inc. and NES Rentals for donating the paint and use of a compressor.
