Carmichael Pharagood led Thibodaux with 20 points in the Tigers’ 76-69 District 8-5A victory over Assumption Friday.

Demon Bolt netted 15 and Bradley Ward chipped in 13 for Thibodaux (18-6, 5-2 in district through Monday).


Delwin Williams scored 18 points to lead Assumption (15-11, 4-3 in district).


Ellender 66, Hammond 63

The Patriots used a balanced offensive attack, led by Sterling Jones (20 points), Ivan Thompson (16), Trevon Lewis (14) and Chris Duthu (11), to edge Hammond Saturday in a Louisiana High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame Game at Southeastern Louisiana University’s University Center.


Through Monday, Ellender sported a 23-8 overall record.


Helen Cox 77, Vandebilt 64

Calvin Thompson netted 26 points to lead Helen Cox to a comfortable District 8-4A win over the Terriers Friday.


Georgetown-bound standout Greg Monroe finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Cougars (24-7, 4-0 in district through Monday).


Evan Mistich scored 16 points for Vandebilt (13-11, 1-4 in district).

Terrebonne 64, Central Lafourche 46


Stan Coleman led the Tigers with a game-high 18 points to help Terrebonne win its fourth-consecutive District 8-5A game Friday.


Cornell Norman added 12 for Terrebonne (15-14 overall, 5-2 in district through Monday).

Ramond Henry scored 18 points for the Trojans (3-25, 0-7 in district).


E.D. White 56, Berwick 32


The Cardinals led 25-14 at the half and never looked back to take a commanding District 7-3A win against the Panthers Saturday.

Philip Lyons scored 22 points for E.D. White (10-14, 1-2 in district through Monday).


Centerville 82, Houma Christian 41


Centerville led 44-6 at the half en route to cruising to an easy District 8-B victory over the Warriors Friday.

Jordan Trosclair led Houma Christian (7-14 overall, 1-4 in district through Monday) with 17 points.


South Lafourche 75, South Terrebonne 62


An 18-0 first-quarter lead proved to be the difference for the Tarpons (21-4 overall, 6-1 in district through Monday).

South Lafourche got points from Cyle Fonseca (20), Rickey Leday (18) and Wesley Rhodes (12).


Rondale Livas scored 20 points for the Gators (6-16, 1-5 in district).

Girls

Vandebilt 48, Helen Cox 34

Sumar Leslie’s 30-point performance paced the Lady Terriers to a comfortable District 8-4A win Friday.

Leslie scored 12 in the fourth quarter to help Vandebilt (20-4, 4-1 in district through Monday) preserve the victory.

Charkira Fields poured in 10 points for the Lady Cougars (20-6, 3-2 in district).

Thibodaux 73, Assumption 69

Jalissa McPhearson drained two key free throws Friday to preserve a tightly-contested win against an Assumption team that made a late fourth-quarter surge.

McPhearson finished with a team-high 25 points, and Bridget Brown added 22 points for the Lady Tigers (12-11, 7-2 in district through Monday).

Danyell Oliver scored a game-high 31 points for the Lady Mustangs (17-13, 6-3 in district).

Ellender 59, Ponchatoula 48

The Lady Patriots’ 38-19 lead at the half was strong enough to help them preserve a Louisiana High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame Game win Saturday at SLU’s University Center.

Deanna Allen scored 28 points for Ellender (27-4 overall through Monday).

Terrebonne 51, Central Lafourche 33

The Lady Tigers owned a two-point advantage at the half, but flexed its offensive muscle in the final two quarters to win comfortably Friday.

Alaina Verdin and Sierra Lyons netted 13 points apiece for Terrebonne (21-9 overall, 7-2 in district through Monday).

Kiera Smith scored a game-high 25 points for the Lady Trojans (14-16, 2-6 in district).

South Lafourche 56, South Terrebonne 19

The Lady Tarpons took a 17-1 lead in the first quarter and sailed to a big District 8-5A victory.

Janee Lombas scored a game-high 12 points for South Lafourche (21-9 overall, 7-1 in district through Monday).

E.D. White 41, Berwick 4

The Lady Cardinals opened the game with a 16-2 lead and held the Lady Panthers scoreless in the second and fourth quarters in a dominating District 7-3A win Friday.

Kathryn Stock scored 10 points for E.D. White (6-15 overall, 3-2 in district through Monday).
