Thibodaux led 11-9 after the first quarter, but widened its lead to 31-15 at the half.

From there, the Lady Tigers cruised to a comfortable 59-39 home victory Friday.


Ke’Arrah Jackson pumped in a game-high 19 points and Tamitrius Bryant chipped 11 for the Lady Braves (6-15 overall, 2-8 in district).


Darachia Johnson (12 points) Danielle Carter (11) and Bridget Brown (10) led Thibodaux (14-11, 9-2).

Terrebonne 47, Assumption 41


Alaina Verdin poured in 18 points and Jonquail Parsee added 16 for the Lady Tigers (23-9 overall, 8-2 in district) in a tightly-contested District 8-5A battle Friday.


Danyell Oliver scored 28 points for Assumption (18-14, 7-4).

South Lafourche 57, Central Lafourche 41


The Lady Tarpons (22-10 overall, 8-2 in district) led 22-10 after the first quarter and cruised to a District 8-5A win Friday that kept their playoffs hopes afloat.


Jamie Lombas scored 18 points and Savanna Lerille added 12 in the victory.

Kierra Smith pumped in a game-high 23 points for Central Lafourche (14-19, 2-8).


Ellender 84, Morgan City 60


Kailie LeBlanc’s 19 points were a big help to the Lady Patriots, who stormed to an emphatic District 8-4A road win Thursday.

Also making sizeable contributions for Ellender (30-4 overall, 6-1 in district) were Asia Williams (18 points), and Deana Allen and De’Jeane Jones (17 each).


Ke’eita Junifer and Jessica Johnson scored 18 points apiece for Morgan City (18-8, 2-5).


Vandebilt Catholic 66, St. Louis Catholic 59 (OT)

The Lady Terriers outscored St. Louis 14-7 in the extra stanza to capture their seventh victory Saturday at the hall of Fame Classic in New Iberia.


With the win, Vandebilt improved to 23-4 overall.


Boys

Terrebonne 62, Assumption 57


The Tigers threw a balanced scoring attack at Assumption, led by Stan Coleman (18 points), Cornell Norman (14), Phil Jackson (12) and Mike Jones (10), to capture a key District 8-5A victory Friday.

With the win, Terrebonne improved to 16-14 overall and 5-3 in district play.

Riley House (15 points) Brandon Watts (12) and Jeremy Thompson and Delwin Williams (10 apiece) led the Mustangs (16-12, 4-4).

South Lafourche 75, Central Lafourche 45

The Trojans led 18-12 after the first quarter, but the Tarpons finally woke up in the second and took a 34-23 lead into the half.

South Lafourche never looked back in the second half en route to capturing a decisive District 8-5A win Friday.

Cyle Fonseca scored a game-high 27 points for the Tarpons (23-4 overall, 8-1 in district). He got help from Wesley Rhodes (17 points), Brenner Callais (13) and Robert Vegas (10).

Raymond Henry scored 16 points for Central Lafourche (3-25, 0-8).

HLB 91, Thibodaux 82 (OT)

The Tigers led by as many as 12 in the fourth quarter, but H.L. Bourgeois closed out the game with a strong run to force the extra session and eventually win in Thibodaux Friday.

The Braves were led by Tramel White (30 points) and Jordan Steib (17).

Nathanial Singleton (14 points) netted 10 points in overtime for H.L. Bourgeois (16-12 overall, 5-3 in district).

Demon Bolt scored 24 points for Thibodaux (18-8, 5-4).

Vandebilt Catholic 65, Archbishop Shaw 42

DeShawn Patterson scored 26 points and Evan Mistich added 15 to keep the Terriers’ state playoff hopes alive with a District 8-4A win over the Eagles last week.

The victory improved Vandebilt to 15-11 overall and 3-4 in district.

Tyler Walker led Shaw (13-15, 2-5) with 13 points.

Ellender 76, Morgan City 65

The Patriots offense got a boost from Chris Duthu (22 points), Travon Lewis (18), Jamal Nixon (17) and Sterling Jones (10) to hold off Morgan City in a District 8-5A matchup Thursday.

With the win, Ellender improved to 24-9 overall and 5-2 in district.

Johnny Francois led Morgan City with 21 points. Ben Jackson added 12 for the Tigers (21-9, 4-3).
