• Thursday – Sunday: Manning Passing Academy at Nicholls State University. The 15th-annual event will feature Pro Bowl quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning, as well as some of the best high school and collegiate quarterbacks in the country. All of the proceeds for the camp will benefit the Nicholls State Athletic Department.


• Friday: A Lion and His Pride: Boxing and ultimate fighting featuring world-famous boxer Butterbean and his two sons. The event is at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center, and tickets start at $20. To purchase tickets, please call (985) 851-4215. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m.


• July 24-25: Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Hunter Safety Course. The opening day of the session will begin at 8 a.m. at the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Academy at 751 Goode St. in Thibodaux. The second day will be held at the LPSO Shooting Range at 3451 Hwy. 182 in Raceland and will begin at 9 a.m. To participate, one must be at least 10-years-old and pass a written and practical exam to be certified.
