The prep volleyball season is officially complete.

No locals were crowned state champions, but several of our schools did themselves proud, placing among the top teams in the state.

In Division I, Terrebonne made it to the quarterfinal round by scoring thrilling straight-sets win against Mandeville (25-23, 25-23, 25-23) in the second round of the playoffs.

But the Lady Tigers were ousted once there, losing to Mount Carmel in straight sets (25-18, 25-16, 25-11).

In Division III, both E.D. White and Vandebilt joined Terrebonne, making it to the Pontchartrain Center as quarterfinalists.

Vandebilt showed why it was the No. 2 team in Division III once there, moving to the semifinals with an easy win against Ben Franklin (25-10, 25-21, 25-19).

The Lady Terriers couldn’t sustain their success and lost a hard-fought match with St. Louis in the semifinals (25-14, 26-24, 25-22).

The No. 5 seed in Division III, E.D. White lost its only match in the Pontchartrain Center, dropping a straight sets decision to Parkview Baptist (25-18, 25-13, 25-18) in the quarterfinals.

Like in Division III, two local schools punched tickets to the quarterfinals round in Division V, Central Catholic and Houma Christian.

The No. 3-seed Lady Eagles smacked their way into the semifinals in a straight-sets win against Hannan (25-16, 27-25, 25-10).

Central Catholic then lost to Episcopal of Acadiana in the semifinals (25-18, 25-19, 25-19).

No. 5-seed Houma Christian lost in the quarterfinals to Westminster Christian, but not without a fight, as two of the sets went to extra points (25-22, 27-25, 27-25).

Terrebonne High School volleyball player Brooke Fonseca rises for a kill during a match this year. Fonseca and the Lady Tigers saw their season end this week, dropping a straight-sets match to Mount Carmel in the Division I state quarterfinals. CASEY GISCLAIR
