Vandebilt Catholic High School announces the departure of Head Football Coach, Tommy Minton. Coach Minton will be retiring at the end of this semester, December 2023.
Vandebilt Catholic would like to thank Coach Minton for his three years of service to not only the football program, but all terrier athletics. In his 30 football seasons, Coach Minton has a record of 230-121 and has gone to the quarters or beyond 10 times, including 2 state championship appearances. We are grateful for his experience, dedication, and support of Vandebilt Catholic and wish him and his family the best.
Tommy Minton stated, “I’d like to thank the Vandebilt Catholic community, especially all the coaches and players in the football program for their commitment to athletics at VCHS. I’m ready to enjoy my family.”
Jeremy Gueldner, VCHS President stated, “We would like to thank Coach Minton for his service to Vandebilt Catholic. Although his time here at VCHS was short, he has left a lasting impact on not only our football program, but the entire athletic department. His leadership in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida was essential to providing a sense of normalcy for our student athletes. We wish him well in his retirement.”
Kayla Vicknair, VCHS Athletic Director added, “I am very thankful for being able to work alongside Coach Minton for the last 3 years. His knowledge and experience has helped me grow as an Athletic Director. I would like to thank Coach Minton for not only his years at Vandebilt Catholic, but for his many years in high school athletics. I wish him all the best in his retirement.”
