Acklin “Capt. Slab” Boudreaux Jr., 60, a native of Montegut, La., and resident of Houma, La., died on Thursday, August 18, 2016.


Mr. Boudreaux was a tugboat captain for 35 years, having trained many others to become captains of the waterway. He will be remembered for his personality that could light up a room.

He is survived by his wife, Evelina Lirette Boudreaux; daughters, Nicole (Jeff) Ezell and Tiffany Boudreaux; father, Edward Carter; brothers, Al Terry (Vicki) and Daniel (Tamily) Boudreaux, Edward (Desiree) III and Brian (Chrissy) Carter; sister, Roxane (Shawn) Cina; brother, Chico (Kathy) Lirette, Robert (Gwen) Lirette, Timmy (Donna) Lirette, Tommy Lirette and Russell (Amy) Nelton; one grandchild and seven step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

Burial is at First Baptist Church of Houma.
