Alfred “Sunny” James Burkett Jr. 86, a native of Golden Meadow and a resident of Galliano passed away peacefully an Friday. June 29. 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
Sunny was survived by his wife of 64 years, Audrey Lafort Burkett. His daughters, Laurie Lee (flance, Vernell Thomas) and Adrienna Boudoin (Barry); grandchildren. Jonathan Thibodaux Clears. Burkett (companion, Casey Flore six Rachel Boudoin and Jacob Lee; great grandchildren, Ryan Bruce, Rylan McCall and Nicholas Flores; siblings, William “Billy” Burkett and Maria Burkett.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and a 50-year member of American Legion post 315-He was also a fisherman and a boat captain He enjoyed having his grand and great grandchildren around him.
