A couple wanted in connection to a March 2018 armed robbery in Thibodaux are now in local custody.

On March 29, 2018, authorities were called to an armed robbery in the 200 block of Plymouth Drive after learning that Saisha Willoughby, 30, of Labadieville, contacted a male victim and asked him to meet her at an apartment complex in the northern Thibodaux area in reference to some money she owed him.

Upon arrival, Willoughby made contact with the male victim, but authorities say it was a trap. Soon after contact, Jarrod Sanchez, 27, of Labadieville, emerged and allegedly pointed a gun at the victim.

Sanchez then allegedly struck the victim in the face and stole several hundreds of dollars from the victim, who fled the scene and called 911.

Authorities quickly developed Willoughby and Sanchez as suspects and warrants were issued for their arrest.

They were taken into custody in May in Texas and on June 20, they were officially extradited to Lafourche to be charged for their alleged crimes.

Both suspects are charged with one count of armed robbery. Bonds are set at $200,000 for each.
