Take a walk on the wild side and enjoy a delicious meal along the way!

The Bayou Civic Club hosts its 21st annual Wild Game Supper Thursday, Feb. 22, featuring crowd favorites such as ostrich, duck, deer and wild boar. The supper usually hosts around 1200 hungry guests.

The 40-plus dishes will be prepared by some of the best professional and amateur chefs of the Bayou Region. Chefs may participate in the supper by invitation only. Diners will vote on their favorite dishes, in each of three categories: fin, fur or feather.

This year, supper will be introducing new dishes including a nutria stir-fry and a King Ring from the Gourmet Butcher Block in Gretna. The King Ring is a boudin-filled puff pastry topped with melted pepper jack cheese, bacon and crumbled smoked sausage.

Also new this year is the offering of the loyalty drink cup. For the cost of $50, you can refill your cup with your choice of drink all night long, alcohol included. There are also a few new souvenirs including a new umbrella and a long sleeve t-shirt.

Proceeds from the Wild Game Supper will go towards the Bayou Civic Club long-term endowment fund, which operates the Larose Regional Park. The Bayou Civic Club is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. They receive no local or state funding for the programs the offer. The Larose Regional Park provides the Larose Region with youth sports, summer camps, and swim teams, among other things to the community.

Every year the Bayou Civic Club honors an individual who has contributed to the community and its culture with their Outdoor Icon Award. This year’s recipient is Mr. Sidney Triche, who is well known for his auctioneering skills.

Admissions for individuals is a $50 donation, and table reservations with servers are available starting at $750. All tickets must be purchased in advance.
