Deputies were called to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center after the child, who has not been publicly identified, was brought there by relative. Medical personal told deputies that the single bullet went through and through the child’s arm.
The weapon was identified as a 9-mm handgun.
‘There were a number of adults at the residence for a gathering, watching the (game) game.” Wolfe said. The names of adults present were not provided, nor information on the gun’s ownership.
The home where the incident occurred was the child’s place of residence. No criminal charges are being filed at this time, Wolfe said.
