This Friday. Houma’s Hope Restored Pregnancy Resource Center will host its first ever Greater Love Banquet at its facility. 437 Grand Caillou Road.

Hope Restored-which was established in the area over 10 years ago-is a 501(c)3 non-profit Christian organiza-tion helping men and women with life-altering challenges such as unplanned pregnancies.

“Our primary mission is to offer life-affirming choices, education and compassionate counsel to those facing pregnancy-related decisions Services include pregnancy testing, mentoring adoption advocacy, post-abortion heal-ing counseling and other classes,” stated the organization’s website: hoperestoredprc.org. “We offer each client an opportunity to become healthy and whole physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually and intellectually in a safe non-judgmental confidential environment using effective, educational and practical tools.”

The team at Hope Restored also teach sex and relationship education at schools, churches or other various group settings.

However, as Hope Restored continues to grow and expand its reach in the community, the busy volunteer staff of the faculty need a full-time director. Therefore, the banquet was created to fund a director’s salary.

At the inaugural banquet, attendees will get to listen to guest speaker Pati Adams-an executive director of a preg-nancy resource center in Panama City-a March for life attendee and testimonies from people in the community that successfully used Hope Restored’s services.

There will also be a silent auction that includes fishing polls, phone cases, home appliances, a bass fishing trip, a one-hour plane ride over the Houma-Thibodaux area and more.

“The impact is becoming stronger because I think more people are starting to know about it [the pregnancy center].” said Tara Detiveaux, Hope Restored volunteer and Executive Director of Hope Extreme. “I think the banquet is really helping to get the word out that there is a pro-life pregnancy center right here in Houma.

The organization plans to also move into their own building in the future because they currently share space with another nonprofit.

Tickets for the banquet are $40 a person or $70 for a couple and can be purchased on the website. Donations to support Hope Restored can be made on the website as well.

“It’s just helping women make pro-life choices but also helping a woman during her pregnancy as well.” Detiveaux said. “So whether that’s offering resources or getting them connected to other resources, it’s just sort of a middle ground for women to came in and just have a listening ear It helps them make life-affirming decisions and walks them along their pregnancy.
