AGE: 23

TOWN: Houma, La.

FAMILY: Half Hamilton, half Robinson

PROFESSION: College student.

HOBBIES: I am very creative. I love to write and do freelance makeup in my spare time.

WHAT IS A TALENT YOU HAVE FEW PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT: I sing very well, but I’m so shy about it. My friends always try to get me to be more forthcoming with this talent, but I just don’t know if I ever could.

IF YOU HAD TO SPEND A YEAR ON A DESERTED ISLAND, WHAT ONE THING WOULD YOU TAKE ALONG: Something that would allow me to play music and never die. A laptop or my phone, probably would be my answer. I wouldn’t need to be connected to people. I just need my music.

YOU’RE A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR LOTTERY WINNER. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO: Invest as much of it as I can into the black communities and any charity that works against social injustices against African-Americans in this country. Whatever’s left, I will pay off my student loans and buy my mom a house.

WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL: My mother, most definitely. It amazes me how gentle, selfless, and kind she remains no matter who or what she is faced with.

IF YOU WERE A SUPERHERO, WHO WOULD YOU BE AND WHAT WOULD YOUR SUPER POWER BE: I’d still go by “Robin,” and my power would be the ability to wave my hand and banish racial oppression.

TV SHOW GUILTY PLEASURE: I don’t have one individual show in particular, but I can admit to binge watching shows on Netflix when I find one I like. I just finished Grace & Frankie. It’s pretty funny.

PROUDEST MOMENT: There was a time in my college career where I lost my TOPS Scholarship due to a lower GPA, and the next semester I made the Honor Roll. I continued onto the Dean’s List and eventually earned a position on the President’s List.

‘It amazes me how gentle, selfless and kind (my mom) remains no matter who or what she is faced with.’

That succession of events is my proudest “moment.”

WHAT’S ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND: Bottles of water, photos of my family and some speakers.

HOW DO YOUR FRIENDS DESCRIBE YOU: Initially, quiet and reserved. But once I get to know you, I can be pretty loud and outgoing. Passionate, resilient, and determined.

DESCRIBE YOUR DREAM ADVENTURE: I would love to visit Greece. I’ve seen so many pictures, and it’s beautiful there.

I WISH I COULD DO BETTER: Yoga. I got into yoga about a year ago and I love it so much.

DESCRIBE YOUR DREAM JOB: My dream job would give me a powerful platform for which I could use to positively impact people and change lives.

AS A CHILD, WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP? A vet, then a pediatrician, then a nurse practitioner, but somehow I ended up with a business degree.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST GIFT EVER?

The day I graduated college, my best friend who I’ve known since preschool gave me a personalized picture frame that had a poem she had written engraved on it. It’s a poem only she and I would understand, and it detailed our friendship perfectly.
