Nicholls archivist was key to solving slavery-era mystery

Melissa Elaine Broussard, 42, a native and resident of Houma, La., died on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.
Ms. Broussard was a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She loved to travel and listen to rock and roll.
She is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Grace Broussard; son, Matthew Self; daughter, Alyssa Self; and brothers, Kenny (Toni) and Shawn (Chelsi) Broussard.
Interment is at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Houma.
