Melvin Elie Sevin, 79, a Houma, La., native and resident, died Friday, July 17, 2015.


Mr. Sevin was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a member of Woodman of the World. A U.S. Army veteran, he worked for 20 years for Cenac Towing Company. He was a master craftsman of shrimp trawls and nets.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Sevin; sons, Donald (Elizabeth), John (Darlene) and Howard (Patti) Elliott; brothers, Andy (Roxanne) and Earl Sevin; sisters, Emelda Sevin, Melba (Donald) Fanguy, Mandy (Tony) Gisclair and Earline Matherne; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Burial is at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
