Myrtle Eve Louviere Blanchard, 103, a native of Schriever, La., and resident of Houma, La., died on Sunday, April 30, 2017.


Mrs. Blanchard was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Parish and an honorary member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was a cadet nurse with the United States Army, becoming a Second Lieutenant and serving during World War II. After the war, she served as a nurse at Mercy Hospital, the United States Post Office and Ursuline Academy in New Orleans.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial is at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie.
