Synergy promotes Means, Savoie

Synergy Bank’s board of directors has named Brett Means assistant vice president and Elmy Savoie banking officer.

Means has been with Synergy for seven years, having served as a teller, investment representative and, most recently, a commercial lender. A Vandebilt Catholic High School graduate, Means holds a bachelor’s and master’s in business administration, which he received from Nicholls State University.


Savoie joined Synergy in 2013 and serves as marketing administrator. She has 20 years of marketing and public relations management experience, and is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Mass Communication. She is involved in numerous civic and community organizations in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes and is a 2013 Leadership Terrebonne graduate.

Bollinger achieves continued ISO 9001 certification

Bollinger Shipyards LLC has achieved continued registration to ISO 9001 for another three years without interruption since 1996.


The scope of Bollinger Shipyards certification, issued through Denver-based ISO 9001 management certification firm, Platinum Registration Inc., includes the design, manufacture, repair and logistical support of marine vessels and their components, as well as in shop and field service repair of AC and DC motors and generators.

“This is an important milestone for Bollinger Shipyards LLC,” said Ben Bordelon, Bollinger president and CEO, in a release. “It’s a rigorous process to become ISO 9001 certified. Our staff worked very hard with Platinum Registration’s auditors to demonstrate that we meet the requirements of the standard. Not only does that make us feel confident that we’re the most efficient that we can be, it assures our customers that we have a completely transparent and robust management system. And that means we have reliable, repeatable, continuously improving business processes so that they are receiving the best value for their money.”

Bordelon went on to say that implementing management procedures in accordance with the high standards of ISO 9001:2008 allows Bollinger Shipyards to further solidify its position as a worldwide leader in the industry and give its customers the confidence that they’ve partnered with one of the best in the business.


Duet named asst. VP of organizational excellence

Cindy Duet has been named assistant vice president of organizational excellence at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

Duet joined TGMC in 1987, as a staff pharmacist and has served as pharmacy director since 2009. She is a key participant on numerous intra-hospital committees. Such committees include the patient safety committee, leadership development teams, patient satisfaction committee, environment of care rounds committee, quality council, medical information technology implementation team.


Duet is an active member of the community and has been awarded with The Courier’s Hometown Hero Award, TGMC Hero Award and most recently City Business’ 2014 Healthcare Hero Honoree.

In her new role, Duet will serve as the internal expert on the continued integration of evidence based leadership, principles, practices, tools and techniques for the organization to continue its journey in excellence. She will also be responsible for customer service, leadership training and employee engagement initiatives, as well as assisting in quality improvement by overseeing the healthcare quality metrics, process improvement methodologies, team facilitation, and outcome management.

TGMC names Gaudet pharmacy director


Andrea Gaudet has been named pharmacy director at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

In her new role, Gaudet plans, organizes and supervises all of the duties of her department to administer medications to patients throughout the hospital – 6,000 medications a day. She is also responsible for managing compliance with the many federal and state laws that regulate the procurement, compounding and dispensing of medications for all hospital patients.

Gaudet got her start with TGMC in high school, serving as a pharmacy clerk. After completing her degree at the University Of Louisiana-Monroe School of Pharmacy, Gaudet began working at TGMC as a staff pharmacist and then pharmacy manager. She is actively involved with clinical pharmacy, pharmacy informatics installations, performance improvement, Joint Commission preparation and community events.
