The local economy is bad right now, and because of that, a lot of people are worried sick about the future and what’s to come.

I’m fully aware of the struggle and the helpless energy that comes with any economic downturn.

My entire family works in the oil and gas industry – from my father to my brother all the way down to pretty much all of my uncles and most of my cousins.

So I know first-hand how it feels to have a loved one lose a job or be forced to take a cut in pay to try and stay employed.

So because of all of the negativity surrounding the industry, a lot of this year’s oil and gas section is negative in nature.

My sincerest apologies about that.

We’re just doing our jobs, and unfortunately right now, there’s not a whole lot of sunshine-filled news to report in the industry.

But with that said, I do know this: the oil and gas industry will return in a big, big way.

And when it does, the industry is going to prosper once more.

I’m a big believer of history repeating itself, and through history, we’ve seen the industry fluctuate many times in the past.

But the common theme in every downturn is that it’s been short-lived and a boom follows that takes the industry to new peaks.

Our area needs it – sooner, rather than later.

To those struggling during the tough times, please know that my sincerest thoughts and prayers are with you.

To those wondering about the future and what may be ahead, please know that experts think that the struggles will be short-lived and that things will be returning to normal – hopefully sooner, rather than later.

The industry has had its share of bumps on the head in the past, but it always battles back.

It will again this time.

I have no doubt.

Oil and gas industry will come back … it always does
