HONORABLE MENTION: South Lafourche guard Kyzha Jackson — The Lady Tarpons walloped Bogalusa on Wednesday night, scoring 98 points in the lopsided win. Jackson was a huge culprit in that success, scoring more than 20 points for the first time in her career.

BRONZE: Ellender’s girls’ basketball defense — The Lady Patriots absolutely smothered St. Thomas More this past week, suffocating the Lady Cougars in a dominant home victory. Ellender limited their opponent to just 25 points in the game.

SILVER: South Lafourche guard Seth Borne — For the second-straight week, Borne will earn our Silver Medal. The South Lafourche senior is one of the most underrated players in the Houma-Thibodaux area. He averages more than 20 points per game, including a 23-point showing in a victory against Bogalusa.

GOLD: E.D. White guard Kevin Johnson — Johnson couldn’t be stopped last week against Vandebilt Catholic. The senior guard scored 28 points in the Cardinals’ dominant victory, using his elite slashing ability to power the team to victory. Johnson is a good one. The Nicholls Colonels are lucky to have his commitment.
