Ray Joseph Pitre Sr., 88, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 4:45AM on Thursday, February 2, 2017.


Mr. Pitre was retired from J. Ray McDermott after 37 years of service. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was an avid fisherman and trawler at his camp.

He is survived by his sons, Philip, Ray Jr. (Charlotte), Stephen (Wanda) and Jerry (Gwen) Pitre; daughters, Debbie (Mark) Daigle, Robbie (Ray) Belanger, Lisa (Roland) Smith and Dody (Timothy) Brown; brother, Floyd (Carmen) Pitre; 10 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Burial is at Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Houma.
