Royce Joseph Chauvin Moore, 88, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015.
Mr. Moore joined the U.S. Navy at 16 years old and served until the end of World War II. He was a notary public for more than 35 years, an usher and greeter at St. Bridget Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Cajun French Music Association and the Bourg Lions Club.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn Leinbach-Moore; sons, Charles Moore, Neal (Jovita) Chauvin and Kirk (Jennifer) and Kurt (Laurel) Frankhouser; daughters, Lynette Hui and Elaine (David) Schaffer; brother, Edward (Mabel) Moore; sister, Peggy (Basil) Catsikis; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Burial is at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
