BREAKING: Four youths escape detention

A Thibodaux teenager is in the custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office for allegedly having sexual relations with a female victim under 13.
In late June, juvenile detectives started an investigation into Wilfred Mitchell, 17, of Thibodaux, after allegations were made that he’d had sexual relations with a girl under 13.
On Julys, detectives were able to make contact with Mitchell and they questioned him about the incident.
During questioning, the suspect allegedly admitted to his involvement with the girl, which led to an arrest and charges.
Mitchell was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a charge of first-degree rape.
Bond is set at $50,000.
Due to the nature of the crime and the age of the victim, LPSO said it will not release any additional details.
Wilfred Mitchell, 17, of Thibodaux, is charged with first-degree rape after he allegedly had sexual involvement with a victim, which authorities say was under the age of 13. Mitchell is being held in them of a $50,000 bond. Authorities said they will not release any additional information about the case because of the nature of the crime.
