Did you know that heart disease kills more women than all cancers combined? Learn about the health of your heart while participating in cardiac screenings at the 5th annual Women’s Love Your Heart Luncheon on Thursday, February 8 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at TGMC’s Medical Atrium Auditorium located at 8120 Main Street.

Presented by Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) Healthy Lifestyles Center and Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS), the community event will include a delicious heart-healthy lunch, question and answer session with Dr. Peter Fail, Interventional Cardiologist, and health screenings, including blood pressure checks and the InBody230 scale. Educational exhibits, including information on smoking cessation, vein treatment, women’s health, weight management will also be available along with the American Heart Association’s Red Sofa Tour sponsored by BHP Billiton which invites women to unite, join the heart disease conversation and share how they live their life with heart by taking a photo on the red sofa and posting on social media to help spread the word.

This is an opportunity for women to learn about the risk factors of heart disease and methods of prevention. Risk factors of cardiovascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive.

Registration for the luncheon is required, and space is limited. Tickets are $20; register at loveyourheart2018.eventbrite.com.
