1. E.D. WHITE: The Cardinals have overcome so much adversity to make it all the way to this point in the season. To lose their starting quarterback and also several close, tight-fought games is not easy. But the Cardinals never waivered and are now in the Final 8 in Division II.

2. VANDEBILT: The Terriers aren’t the most talented, but they do battle. Every, single Friday night, those guys battle and give a 100 percent effort. They’ll have their hands full on Friday against University, but the team surely will give it its best shot. We’ll see what happens.

3. THIBODAUX: The Tigers faced a hot opponent in round one and were sent packing. Thibodaux has athletes galore on its depth chart and there’s absolutely no doubt that the Tigers will be among the short list of local contenders in 2016.

4. SOUTH LAFOURCHE: To win six games without Harvey Allen ever taking a snap is an honor that South Lafourche’s kids should be incredibly proud of. With Jaydon Cheramie and Corbin Allen both back next fall, the Tarpons have a ton of total yards returning on an already good offense.

5. CENTRAL LAFOURCHE: The Trojans sure did themselves proud. Coach Keith Menard does a great job with his team, and it was surely good to see those guys break the ice and finally reach the playoffs in Class 5A.
