Thomas Francis Mestayer, 91, a native of Loreauville, La., and a resident of Mathews, La., died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016.


In World War II, Mr. Mestayer saw action as a Ships Officer in the South Pacific, North Atlantic and European Combat Theaters of operations. He spent 5 years in the Regular Army and Army Reserves, recalled tor the Korean War. He then spent 33 years working all over the world in Seismic exploration, Submarines, Destroyers, Aircraft Carriers, New Ship Construction, Ariel Photography and Missile Range work.

He is survived by his wife, Del Monte Mary Arabie Mestayer; daughters, Patricia Mestayer McNeil, Mary Mestayer and Margaret Foster; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Burial is at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of South Louisiana are appreciated.
