A Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy lost his badge and his freedom Saturday after being arrested in connection with a complaint that he threatened a couple who were guests in his home with a gun and a Taser.
Nathan Fox, 29, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, authorities reported. The incident, which allegedly occurred at his Houma residence on Gage Court, did not result in any injuries, said Capt. Dawn Foret, assistant chief of detectives.
He was off duty at the time.
According to information Foret supplied, a couple from Houston was visiting Fox at his home and “the subjects were consuming alcoholic beverages.”
Fox, she said, “engaged in reckless play with a firearm” and “subsequently threatened the couple with a Taser and the firearm.”
After returning to their home in Houston, the couple reported the incident. Fox was questioned, and arrested at 4:01 p.m. Saturday. Foret said he was fired immediately; he was booked into the Terrebonne Parish jail where he awaits a bond hearing.
Fox joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2012 and did routine patrol.
