Verna Marie Matherne, 95, a native of Donner, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016.
Mrs. Matherne was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. She graduated from Terrebonne High School and was a member of the basketball team. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus in Dulac. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her sons, Glenn (Merril) Matherne, and Eric (Jacque) Matherne; daughter, Diane (Wilfred) Barnhill; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Burial is at Terrebonne Memorial Park. (Chauvin)
