LSU accepts Citrus Bowl invitation

Larose native Ed Orgeron’s first game as the full-time head football coach at Louisiana State University will not be an easy one.

The Tigers accepted a bid to the Citrus Bowl this week – an invitation which will pit the team against Louisville.

The game will take place on New Year’s Eve.

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m., and the game will be broadcast nationally on ABC.

It will be a big-time challenge for LSU to get a win.

Against the Cardinals, LSU will be facing quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is arguably the top college football player in the country, the likely pick to win the coveted Heisman Trophy.

But the Tigers have a defense that may be capable of bottling up Jackson – especially given a month to prepare.

Las Vegas has the Tigers favored in the game.
