The Cardiovascular Institute of the South and Terrebonne General Medical Center will host a free health fair on Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. at the TGMC Medical Atrium Auditorium, located at 8120 Main St.
The health fair will offer free cardiac screenings, including a full cholesterol profile and offer an In-Body 230 scale that reads body composition, as well as testing for blood pressure and body mass index.
Professionals will also be available to consult people on smoking cessation, venous disease and management for weight and diabetes.

This screening is made possible from the proceeds of the Houma Heart & Soles Half-Marathon & 5K hosted annually by CIS and TGMC.
LPSO seeks public comment
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre is inviting the public to an assessment of his agency by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, which is examining all aspects of Webre’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services.
As part of the assessment, members of the community are invited to comment during a public information session scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Lafourche Parish Courthouse, Div. “E” 201 Green Street, Thibodaux.
