Terriers win 2 of 3 in key weekend series

The Vandebilt Catholic baseball team is in complete control of District 7-4A.

The Terriers overcame their first district loss on Thursday night in style, rebounding to beat Assumption on Friday and Saturday to win the weekend series with the Mustangs.

With the wins, Vandebilt is now in control of the district – the odds-on favorites to take the crown.

The Terriers are 8-1 in district play at press-time.

The Mustangs sit at 6-3.

Morgan City is also in the hunt at 6-3.

But the schedule still plays in Vandebilt’s favor.

The Terriers will end their season with a series against Morgan City and a series against Ellender, who is winless in district play.

The Tigers and Mustangs must play one another, meaning someone behind Vandebilt will lose.
