Dear Editor:

I have a question that I believe we in Louisiana need to take serious thought over. I know that there is a difference legally but, morally and ethically, is there any difference between Mary Landrieu taking a bribe in the name of the state of Louisiana and William Jefferson taking bribes for himself?

One may answer that U.S. Sen. Landrieu sold her vote to get $300 million dollars (at taxpayer’s expense) for the state. But would anyone doubt that when this money is doled out that it will be done in a way that will buy votes for Landrieu’s next election?

This is the very type of thing we have been trying to clean out of Louisiana politics.
