Gerald Thomas, 61, a native of Assumption Parish, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Saturday, July 4, at 3:36 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Hill Thomas of Thibodaux; one son, Tremaine Thomas of Napoleonville, La.; one stepson, Terrance Hills of Thibodaux; four daughters, Christa Smith Rainey and husband Joseph, and Stacy Smith Rainey and husband Mario of Paincourtville, La., and Devan Smith and husband Christopher, and Bilan Thomas of Napoleonville; one stepdaughter, Charmaine Singleton and husband Jerome of Patterson, La.; two brothers, Carroll Thomas Sr. and wife Agnes, and Robert Thomas Sr. and wife Clementine of Napoleonville; two sisters, Cora Thomas and Dorothy Coleman of Napoleonville; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Harriet Keyes Thomas; one son, Clifford Smith; three brothers, George Thomas Jr., Willie Thomas and Edward Thomas; and two sisters, Caroline Brown and Gertrude Narcisse.
He was a member of New Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. His hobbies included sports.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Labadieville, La., with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
