“American Masters from the Blanton Museum of Art’s Mari and James A. Michener Collection,” through Nov. 30. Nearly 40 paintings trace the development of 20th Century Americana painting, from the gritty realism of Robert Henri to the startling pop art of Robert Indiana to the experimental abstraction of Alan Cote.
“Survivor Saturday,” Aug. 9, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., on the third floor. Teen tribal leaders will guide teams through maze-like galleries, with challenging “g-mails” around every turn. No immunities are attainable, but there will be plenty of hunts, mini-performances and art-making.
