Executive Director Jennifer Armand shared the story of BCF’s Hurricane Ida Resilient Housing Recovery Program as a guest speaker at the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, Inc (FLASH) National Disaster Resilience Conference November 7. Her panel presentation, “Hearts, Hands, and Hammers,” illustrated the power of volunteers and philanthropy to rebuild our bayou communities after Hurricane Ida and bring families back home.

The success of the BCF’s Bayou Recovery Fund housing recovery efforts in Dulac launched BCF’s Rebuild South Lafourche and Rebuild Grand Isleprograms, continue to fund building supplies needed by volunteers to repair and build storm-resistant homes in those areas. Watch the presentation here.

Bayou Community Foundation is the only charitable foundation solely focused on building and sustaining the communities of Lafourche Parish, Terrebonne Parish, and Grand Isle.
