It was supposed to be just a contempt of court charge.

But when Shawn Meier, 27, of Bourg, got to the Lafourche Parish Jail, it allegedly got worse.

Meier was arrested on Wednesday on an active warrant for contempt of court.

At the time of his arrest, he allegedly gave deputies a false name, which also led to a charge of resisting an officer.

Upon arrival at the jail, authorities searched Meier and allegedly found a bag containing methamphetamine, marijuana and another drug only available by prescription.

For that offense, Meier is charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a legend drug, possession of marijuana (third and subsequent offense), taking contraband to a penal institution and violation of parole.

Because of the parole violation, Meier is ineligible for bond.
