An inmate in the Terrebonne Parish Jail is facing additional charges after authorities found child pornography on his phone.
On Jan. 24, authorities charged Randy Joseph Himel Jr., 23, with 50 counts of child pornography, as part of an investigation which was why he was in jail on previous charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
According to authorities, Himel’s cell phone was seized, and a search warrant was obtained. During a forensic exam, 50 images of child porn were allegedly recovered on the phone, which led to the charges.
Himel remains in the Terrebonne Parish Jail without bond after the new charges.
