Harris was taken into custody without incident and is now being held in the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a Houma man wanted on multiple narcotics related charges, stemming from an investigation handled by the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Sheriff’s Office. 

Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Edward Reinhardt, a former Lockport mayor, for falsifying community service reports while in office.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of three Houma men, stemming from a Residential Burglary Investigation that occurred at a residence on the Westside of Houma. 

Johnnie Caine Jr. was arrested and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on charges of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor, as well as traffic related offenses.

“This is what nightmares are made of,” said Assistant District Attorney Allie Fournet. “An innocent family pumping gas after a high school graduation party does not expect, nor do they deserve, being forced into an elaborate scam that could have ended much worse.”

Christi Cheramie, 50, was charged with Felony Theft, after admitting to embezzling over $120,000 from her employer.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible for burglaries at a boat storage facility in Galliano. There were three separate burglaries at the facility during daytime hours.

The male suspects convinced the elderly victim to allow them to drive him to a bank, where he removed a large sum of money, which was taken by the male suspects. The elderly male was returned to his vehicle by the suspects, who fled the area.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of four individuals, in connection with a series of copper wire thefts that were recently reported to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office from the Chauvin and Montegut areas.

Agents cited Keith Eschete, 61, from Montegut, and Keeley Vice, 49, from Tylertown Miss., for using skimmers during a closed season and using oversized skimmer nets. They were in possession of 1,453 pounds of shrimp.

Thibodaux man arrested and booked with bail set at $117,850.

In late January 2023, juvenile detectives began investigating allegations that Terrebonne had sexually abused another man over the course of several years. Terrebonne confessed to the crime.

Thibodaux Police Department were able to recover the deceased body of Calvin Johnson shortly after 2:00 a.m. on March 1, 2023.

On April 5, 2022, shortly before 8:30pm, TPSO responded to Livas Lane, in reference to reports of a female, 28-year-old Selena Marquez, that was shot multiple times. TPSO Detectives have been consistently working this homicide and are releasing the investigation again with the hopes of renewing interest from the public.
