A 20-year-old Houma man is in custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly beat two women with a metal rod.

On June 12 at approximately 3:30 a.m., TPSO deputies were called to 273 Monarch Drive in Houma in reference to a disturbance.

Deputies arrived at the location and learned that an alleged home invasion had taken place and that the suspected perpetrator was still at the location.

Authorities immediately took the suspect into custody without incident, identifying him as Latronce James Moore, 20, of 1204 Short St., Houma. From there, authorities started their investigation.

During investigation, deputies said they learned that the case had two victims – a 23-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman.

The 23-year-old, authorities said, is an ex-girlfriend of Moore. The 27-year-old woman is the first victim’s friend.

While investigating, authorities were told that Moore went to the residence and knocked on the door and no one answered.

Moore then allegedly gained entry into the residence through the living room window as the two victims ran and locked themselves into the bathroom.

Moore then forced his way into the bathroom and proceeded to attack the females, according to TPSO.

Moore allegedly ripped the metal rod towel holder off the wall and hit both victims in their faces and bodies multiple times.

The friend of Moore’s ex-girlfriend managed to get away and call TPSO. Acadian Ambulance was also called to the scene and both victims were taken to a local hospital where they were treated for their injuries.

The 27-year-old victim needed stitches to her legs and stomach.

James is charged with home invasion.

He is held in the Terrebonne Parish Jail without bond.
