So you think you know everything? Now is your chance to prove it.

The Lafourche Mayors’ Committee on Disability Issues is sponsoring a trivia night Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Warren J. Harang Municipal Auditorium in Thibodaux.

The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the Trivia Contest, consisting of an array of topics, begins at 6:30 p.m. It lasts until the winners are crowned.

The entry fee for six-member teams is $120 and is payable to the Lafourche Mayors’ Committee on Disability Issues. All participants must be at least 18 years old.

Although she couldn’t divulge the questions, event coordinator Stephanie Kenney-Gomez promised a 10-question format in 10 different topics. Topics range from general knowledge to pop culture.

“They won’t be too easy, but they won’t be too hard either,” she said. “We’ll have local celebrity readers call out the questions. We hope a lot of people show up. The more, the merrier. We’re there to have fun and to raise money for a good cause.”

This is the organization’s first attempt at a trivia night fundraiser.

“We (Gomez and her husband) play a smaller version with Friend’s of the Library every month. People really look forward to it, so we’re hoping for the same results,” she said.

A silent auction is also planned that night with all donations going to the organization. Food and drinks will also be sold.

In the event that a team must cancel, the entry fee is non-refundable and will be considered a donation. For more information, contact Gomez or Warren Chauvin at (985) 447-0809.
