Free Tax Preparation Help: On Wednesdays and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., throughout tax season, volunteer tax preparers will be at the library to assist those who must file simple tax returns and who meet income requirements. Appointments are required and can be made by calling the Larose Branch Library at 693-3336. Bring proof of identification, Social Security cards, W-2s, and any other pertinent tax papers.

Through March 31 n Amateur Photography Contest: the Lockport Branch Library is hosting a contest for amateur photographers of any age. Participants may enter two photos that are a minimum of 5″ x 7″ or a maximum of 8″ x 10″. Submitted photos must be the entrant’s original work, and those entries submitted may not be winning photos from other contests. The photos must be appropriate for a general audience. Photo entries, along with a completed entry form, are due by March 31. Entries forms are available at the library, 720 Crescent Avenue. Prizes will be awarded during National Library Week in April.
