Dear Editor:

Recently, my wife and I had the privilege of viewing the Veterans Memorial Wall off Louisiana Highway 3235 in Galliano. What an outstanding tribute to all servicemen who served in the Armed Forces of America.

This beautiful monument is comparable to those in Washington, D.C., and will serve as a special attraction to visitors when it is finished.

The memorial covers every campaign from the War of 1812 to the present.

Hopefully, when young people view this they will remember and appreciate the sacrifices of their relatives and all the brave men from the South Lafourche area who served in the military.

Congratulations are in order for the veterans who are working to bring this project to completion and the good citizens who voted for the millage(s) for this monumental and worthwhile undertaking. It is very refreshing to know that patriotism is very alive and well in Lafourche Parish.
