1. Punch Gymnastics

7. James Academy of Gymnastics

This gym provides a wide array of training in a safe, fun, healthy environment for every child to grow and achieve. The facility offers a huge amount of room and equipment. They also are a member of USA gymnastics and specialize in training gymnasts for the Junior Olympic Program from level one through elite and have trained the best local athletes. BodybyThomas offers a healthier way to pick up lunch. The food trailer is located in the 985 Eats Food Truck Park that offers plates with delicious options that include veggies, carbs, protein, fruit, and juice all for a balanced meal. 3. Nutrition Wonderland

Nutrition Wonderland is there for all of your pick-me-ups, delicious meal replacement shakes, Acai Bowls, and more. Skip that high-calorie coffee and stop by 1795 Martin Luther King Blvd. Suite C!


 

4. St. Charles Nutrition

Ring in the new year with healthier choices. From Velvet Ice meal replacement shakes to loaded teas, to much more, this is your place to stop at 1437 St. Charles Street Suite 123.

 

5. Local Markets

There are two local markets that will not only help support local business but also will help you make better health choices. The Market at the Marina presented by Terrebonne General runs the first Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to noon. They have a variety of vendors and starting in 2022, they will have a Terrebonne General Physician Specialist or a Healthy Lifestyle expert attend so you can stop by to get answers to all of your health questions. The market is located at 8228 Park Avenue under the bridge. 

The other market that will be starting back up on January 4 is the Downtown Houma Market. This local artisan market includes local produce, seafood, and more! The focus is on farmers, fishermen, and artisans. It will run every Tuesday from 3 p.m. until dark in the Terrebonne Main Library Parking Lot, 151 Library Dr.


 

6. St. Francis Vegetable Garden

The gardens are a collaborative community effort to supply the Lafourche and Terrebonne food banks, and the public, with fresh produce, as well as educate them on fresh and healthy eating. St. Francis Vegetable Garden has 4 locations that cover Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes: Rienzi Drive in Thibodaux, Southdown Plantation, The Elks Community Garden (Coteau Rd.), and the Main Library Garden.

 

7. LSUAg

LSU Ag Center offers programs and services that cater to a healthier southern lifestyle. Terrebonne has an abundance of seafood, wildlife, and natural resources. The Ag Center offers help on agriculture and horticulture, fisheries, and has an abundance of programs geared towards nutrition including Corporate Wellness, Dining with Diabetes, Food Recipe videos, “Greauxing at Home,” Grocery Store Tours, “Let’s Eat for the Health of It Adult and Youth”, Live Healthy Houma, Small Changes, Healthy Habits, Smart Portions, Live Healthy Houma Exercise Park.
