Five Terrebonne residents filed for parish president, while 27 qualified for the Terrebonne Parish Council, including six incumbents.

Current Parish President Don Schwab is not seeking re-election.


The following is a list of candidates for Terrebonne Parish President and the Terrebonne


Parish Council.

Parish President candidates


The race pits Barry Bonillain, Michel Claudet, Mike Fesi, Eulin Guidry and Jerry Larpenter against each other.


Bonvillain, Democrat, is a former two-term Terrebonne Parish President, and two-term parish councilman. He currently manages the East Park Volunteer Fire Company.

Claudet, 58, Republican, is a businessman, Certified Public Accountant, and retired attorney.


Fesi, 26, Republican, is vice president of business development for Pipeline Construction & Maintenance.


Guidry, 67, Republican, is the solid waste administrator for Terrebonne Parish, and a former member of the Terrebonne Parish Police Jury.

Larpenter is the sheriff of Terrebonne Parish.


Council candidates


District 1, southern and east Houma; part of downtown

Clark Nixon, 43, Democrat, is a self-employed trucker, and is a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.


Alvin Tillman, Democrat, is the incumbent District 1 councilman.


District 2, west Houma

Aurestile Scott, Democrat, is a retired Houma Police Dept. detective and a U.S. Army veteran. He has been heavily involved with volunteer work in Houma for the past 35 years, and has been a deacon for 22 years.


Arlanda Williams, 36, Democrat, is the incumbent District 2 council member. She is employed by Gilsbar Insurance Company.


District 3, north Terrebonne Parish, Bayou Cane

Floyd Bergeron, no party given, is a retired oilfield salesman.


Charles “Speedy” Collins, 67, Democrat, is an instructor at Fletcher Technical Community College.


Billy Hebert, 61, Democrat, is vice chairman of the board of the Terrebonne Parish Waterworks District.

Greg Hood, 26, no party given, is a 9-1-1 operator.


District 4, north Terrebonne

Teri Cavalier, no party given, is the incumbent District 4 council member.

Lucretia McBride, no party given, 53, is an independent forensic consultant.

Clayton Voisin Jr., 41, Republican, is an operations manager for Warrior Energy Services.

District 5, northern Houma and part of downtown

Otis Logue, Republican, has been a member of numerous civic and industrial associations, and is currently a corrosion engineer with Energy Services International.

Amos Mosely, Democrat, could not be reached.

John Pizzolatto, 71, Republican, is a retired lieutenant colonel in the National Guard, and former Terrebonne Parish School Board president.

District 6, western Terrebonne and part of south Houma

Donnie Cockerham, 58, other (party), is a former independent oilfield businessman, and is currently an oilfield salesman for Master Valve.

Leland Robichaux, 67, Republican, sits on the board of the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce, and is employed by Oil States Skagit Smatco.

District 7, southern Terrebonne

Reggie Bourg, 54, other (party), is not employed.

Nathan Trosclair, 48, Democrat, is not currently employed, but intends to return to retail business.

Clayton Voisin, Democrat, is the incumbent District 7 councilman. He works in real estate and retail business.

District 8, eastern Terrebonne and part of east Houma

Joey Cehan, 43, Democrat, is vice president of the Terrebonne Port Commission.

Carl Chauvin, 66, Democrat, is a former member of the Terrebonne Parish Council. He is a district manager for Vacco Marine.

Dirk Guidry, 51, Democrat, owns Pizza Express and Gator Mini Storage.

Peter Rhodes, 55, no party given, is the incumbent District 8 councilman. He owns Pete’s Appliance Service.

District 9, southern Terrebonne

Chris Chaisson, 24, Republican, is vice president of the Montegut/Pointe Aux Chenes Fire Dept., and is a minister.

Danny Henry, Republican, previously held this seat for two terms.

Pete Lambert, 56, Democrat, is the incumbent District 9 councilman. He is a telephone repairman for AT&T.
