A man toting a metal pipe entered a Houma convenience store early Thursday, demanded money from the cashier and fled in a small two-door sedan, Houma Police said.

The robber has short brown hair, and wore a long-sleeved sweatshirt, light blue jeans and white shoes. His face was partially covered by a blue and white cloth, according to police.

Police were alerted to the robbery at 4 a.m. Thursday, Duplantis said. Deputies arrived on the scene within minutes, but the suspect had already fled the scene, he said.

The armed robber entered Dabb’s Quick Stop, 5127 West Park Ave., brandishing the metal pipe and demanded the cashier give him money from the register, Duplantis said. The cashier complied, handing over an undetermined amount of money, and the robber left the store, he said.

The robber ran to a getaway carna small, two-door blue or green sedannthat was parked near the highway, and jumped into the passenger side of the vehicle, Duplantis said. The car sped away traveling toward Gray, he said.
