A Monday morning crash has claimed the life of a 56-year-old Morgan City man.

LSP spokesman Master Trooper Bryan Zeringue said at approximately 7:34 a.m., Lee Lecamu, 56, of Morgan City, was operating a 2009 Ford Ranger eastbound on La. Highway 182 and for unknown reasons, was traveling in the inside westbound lane of the road.

Lecamu reportedly struck a westbound 2009 Buick Enclave head-on being driven by Tina Rivet, 53, of Raceland.

Rivet received serious injuries and was transported to TRMC.

The collision’s debris also caused damage to a 1997 Nissan Maxima driven by Ireon Simmons, 27, of Ama.

Simmons received minor injuries and was transported to Ochsner St. Anne Hospital in Mathews.

Zeringue said all of the drivers were properly restrained.

Alcohol or drug use is not known at this time, pending blood tests taken at the accident scene.
