A Houma woman was arrested Tuesday night shortly after she attempted to flag down a vehicle near the intersection of Hobson and Levron streets.

Houma Police patrolling the area stopped the woman, Rita Naquin, 50, of 1133 Daspit St., said department spokesman Lt. Todd Duplantis. Naquin has had several arrests involving narcotic-related offenses, he explained.

When police stopped Naquin, Duplantis said she put her hand in her left pocket. Officers found a long, cylinder glass crack pipe in her possession, he said.

Naquin was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and was transported to the police department where she was issued a summons. The crack pipe was entered into evidence, Duplantis said.
