August 17, 2011La. Highway 308 in Lockport will be closed for about an hour on Wednesday and Thursday as crew with Bollinger Shipyards move a vessel across the road.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, the highway will be closed for 30 to 45 minutes, barring any problems. On Thursday, also beginning at 9 a.m., it will be closed for at least an hour.
Motorists are being asked to detour by traveling along La. Highway 1 between the Valentine Pontoon Bridge and the Belle Vue Swing Bridge to alleviate traffic build up.
Road guards will be posted at each end of the shipyard during the closure.
